Yesterday I bumped into a friend who was wearing some lovely smelling perfume. After asking what it was, she told me that she was wearing her boyfriend’s aftershave (or man-perfume as I call it)! I was shocked as it suited her so well. It turns out that he sprayed her with it as a joke a few days ago but she really enjoyed the smell and continued to use it! That backfired on him in a way he couldn’t have imagined! So I wonder if this happens often. The only times I have sprayed myself or an item of my clothing with man-perfume is so I can be reminded of the man in question when I am not with him, which is a really good way of keeping him close to you when you are apart. However to wear it as your own personal scent seems strange to me. Perhaps this is because I suit floral perfumes and my friend suits more spicy ones.
When you find a perfume that suits you, you just know it. I had a moment a few months ago where I was mooching around Selfridges, pretending to be posh and loaded, and accidentally got addicted to the smell of one of the most expensive perfumes I have ever come across. Now there are only so many times you can go into Selfridges and spray a tester on your scarves and coats before they get a little bit annoyed and therefore I decided to try and forget about it. The perfume in question is Viktor and Rolf’s Flowerbomb. I love it more than any other perfume I have ever smelled however it is £66 for a small bottle and unfortunately I do not have a tree that grows golden apples in the garden. My most expensive perfume was about £40 and I used it sparingly due to this fact. A few weeks ago I was in Superdrug looking for some perfume to buy my little sister for Christmas and we were smelling the samples when lo and behold, I discovered a budget version of Flowerbomb! It turns out that Kate Moss’ Velvet Hour smells very much like Flowerbomb when on me! And it was a snip at about £15 so I bought some and it has become my new everyday perfume. Excellent work Kate! Why not try this when you have a similar predicament?
The search for the perfect perfume is like searching for the perfect partner. You may try loads on and like them, perhaps hate some, and perhaps fall out of love with others after time has passed. However when you do find the one for you, you just know it. People tell you that you smell nice, even when you can’t smell the perfume on yourself and think it has worn off, that’s just the sign that it suits you. When the person you are interested in makes a comment about how you are wearing ‘that perfume again’ it is safe to say you don’t think you’ll ever change it! I have a few different perfumes that I have worn over the years that I keep for different occasions; however I have a staple one which I would be horrified if anyone else wore after knowing it was mine. Is that strange? There was a strange moment when the new girl at work with the same name as me got Cacharel’s Amor Amor out of her bag, it was a funny coincidence.

With the festive season fast approaching i know that a lot of people will be buying the latest scents for a Christmas present for a loved one, family member or even a friend and i know a cheap way of purchasing these and that is by using Discount Codes.
I love using Discount codes and have used them for most of my Christmas shopping so i can buy more and save money on the items i have bought.
All of the major shops advertise their discounts online eg, Tesco, Amazon, Sainsburys, Avon, Boots and many many more.
Great Places to get your perfume from this year are:
- Boots
- Superdrug
- The Body Shop
- The Perfume Shop
- Tesco
- Fragrance Direct
- Selfridges cosmetic counters
- House of Fraser cosmetic counters
I am especially loving the below fragrances at the moment
- Weekend by Burberry – Women
- Lola by Marc Jacobs – Women
- Diamonds by Emporio Armani – Women
- Flora by Gucci – Women
- Boss by Hugo Boss – Men
- Cool Water by Davidoff – Men (old classic)
- Only the Brave by Diesel – Men
To make the stocking seem even bigger why not spend a little bit more (but not a lot) on a gift set when he or she can get the perfume with either a bottle of moisturiser or another gift.
Finding fragrance bargains can be a nightmare so please read my tips on how to bag yourself a great deal when buying this years Christmas presents.
Comparison websites are the first port of call as you can quickly get a feel for what you can expect to pay.
Another way is to search the web for voucher codes, especially in the run up to Christmas as the retailers tend to use sales, money off codes and vouchers to get your business.
Once you have found the cheapest retailer your next move is to see if there are any cash back websites offering you cash back by purchasing your new scent via their website.
I do hope my tips help you in your quest to find the perfect, cheap fragrance!
As I walked past my friend last week she smelt gorgeous! Asking her what perfume she was wearing she informed me that it was in fact Alien by Thierry Mugler. I went straight out and bought myself a bottle of Eau de Parfum Spray which only costs on average £24.99 for a 15ml bottle.
Alien has a lovely woody, floral fragrance with notes of Jasmine sambac and orange blossom. Which altogether give off a sexy, seductive scent.
The bottle of Alien that I bought was a special edition ‘Gem stone’ shape which would look fabulous on any woman’s dressing table.
I have had a number of compliments on my ’smell’ already and feel I have finally found my trademark scent!
I was pretty mortified when i found out that the worlds most expensive perfume costs an astonishing £115,000.00, really this is how much some people can shed out for one bottle of perfume that will be all gone in a couple of months, shocking, just think what you could buy for that amount of money. I personally would prefer thousands of bottles instead of just the one!
I suppose some money have millions to spend and love the thought of luxury so if you are one of these lucky people who has the cash to splash then the fragrance you want to buying for your lady is Imperial Majesty. The bottle does sounds breath taking though it is shaped as a Baccarat cystal and comes with an 18-carat gold collar with a five carat white diamond!
If you want to but a bottle of the luxury fragrance then you will have to make a visit to Harrods as they are the only shop retailing the most expensive fragrance known on this planet!
Christmas day is fast approaching, where has the year gone really! I think that perfume is a great gift for a loved one. If you are buying for your girlfriend, mum or even your nan then you need to head to Agent Provocateur and sample there fragrances.
When you say Agent Provocateur people think saucy underwear but there beauty products are just as good!
I would never of thought of trying out there fragrance until i got but it for my birthday and i instantly fell in love with it and get complimented every where i go. I am pretty vain when it comes to perfume and the packaging has to be just as exciting as the smell and you cant fault the designer of the Agent Provocateur bottle it is a saucy pink hand grenade-esque shape of porcelain with a small black tag and adds glamour to any girl’s handbag. The smell was that amazing that i had to go in the shop and find out what else they had to offer and ended up leaving the shop with the dusting powder that goes perfect with the fragrance.
So when you are off out to find stocking fillers make sure you stop by Agent Provocateur to put a big smile on your loved ones face!
I have found a new shop which i absolutely love at the moment called Hollister Co and the best bit is that is sells both men’s and women’s clothes.
For the first time since shopping there i actually smelt the aftershaves that are scattered around the till and they are actually really nice smelling.
The come in 1 fl Oz or 1.7 fl OZ or in mini bottles and the larger ones start at £24 and go up to £40 and the mini’s are priced at £32 for 3 bottles.
I must say my favorite is the SoCal but my friends all liked different ones for their men.
